Story
"I'm taking part in one of the biggest challenges there is... a Spartan Race!"
In July 2021, I was diagnosed with Stage 2B Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The plan was laid out with chemotherapy every 2 weeks for 6 months. In January 2022, I completed primary chemotherapy. However, on my first follow up PET scan, refractory Hodgkin's Lymphoma was detected (meaning that there was still active disease after primary treatments). This meant more chemotherapy and an autologous stem cell transplant.
I began salvage chemotherapy in July 2022, and after two rounds, was declared cancer free on August 12, 2022. Next, the prep for my autologous stem cell transplant began. I was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic for my transplant on September 1, 2022 and was discharged on September 18, 2022. I am now beyond blessed to be living in health and living life to the fullest!
God has blessed me with renewed health to be a source of hope to those starting or going through their cancer journey. God called me not to only be a survivor, but to thrive in my second chance of life! In that spirit, I am going to be competing in the Spartan Race at the University of Notre Dame on July 8, 2023 with raising money for the American Cancer Society!
Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly to the American Cancer Society and a tax receipt automatically issued to you.
Thanks so much for all the continued support and God Bless!
