As I reflect on the bond I share with my family and the cherished memories we hold dear to our hearts, there's a missing piece that we feel deeply. Sherri Lynn, my deeply loved sister who bravely battled cancer, isn't physically present, but her spirit still shines brightly among us. The family she left behind shares her light, a reflection of the love, kindness and service that she so valiantly shared during her brief life.

In honor of Sherri Lynn's legacy of love, I decided to do something in her memory to help remind us that she will be here with us in spirit—a Spartan Race! It's not just any race for me; it's a symbol of resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Having faced a physical disability stemming from a childhood neck injury and enduring a traumatic brain injury, this race symbolizes my own personal odyssey of triumph and defying the odds. It's a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of familial unity.

With each step I take running, I carry her memory close to my heart, driven by the same desire to impact lives just as she did for all those that she touched. That's why I've chosen to raise funds for the American Cancer Society, an organization dedicated to saving lives and offering hope to those affected by this disease.
